Brüel & Kjær noise dosimeter is perfect for numerous scenarios
The B&K Type 4448 noise dosimeter
Durham Instrumentsmakes many Brüel & Kjær products available to Canadian industry, like the Type 4448 noise dosimeter. This is a shoulder-mounted, cable-free, personal device with a simple two-button operation, an informative LCD display, and an automatic calibration function. An ATEX-approved model is available for hazardous conditions, as well as the standard.
Through its built-in memory and rechargeable battery, users can get several working days of measurement out of theType 4448.
With PC software Protector
Common uses for this dosimeter include assessment of noise exposure at work, occupational noise evaluation for safety, selection of hearing protection, and as a daily “noise watchdog”. The Type 4448 can measure LAeq and LCeq at once, and it uses the Noise Reduction Rating, Single Number Rating, and/or High, Middle, Low rating method to select the appropriate hearing protection from measured information.
The device also has an LCD display that clearly shows remaining battery and memory capacity, as well as key parameters during measurement. This noise dosimeter allows users to review data from the last measurement. By measuring all relevant noise parameters at the same time, it eliminates the need to conduct setup tasks, while the interchangeable mounting clips provide the best fit for the user’s activity and clothes. The unlicensed PC software Protector is available to set up Type 4448, download data after measurement, and calculate personal noise exposure.
Among the unit’s other capabilities:
Also available are multiple-unit kits, each of which holds up to ten dosimeters and accessories, to simplify noise-exposure assessment for multiple users.
The Type 4448 noise dosimeter has a wide variety of uses in various sectors.Durham Instrumentsrecommends the device for general manufacturing, aerospace, automation, food processing, forestry, education, the medical field, the military, mining, packaging, power generation, alternative energy, transportation, and research and development.
