Wood, plastic, or steel
Wood pallets, plastic pallets, plastic containers, and steel racks make up the four most common类型的托盘transported on conveyors. Arguably the most familiar to most people, wood pallets are frequently made of GMA wood and assembled with nails, serving as platforms on which workers can stack products and arrange them stably. They typically have a few bottom boards that make contact with the conveyor; since the boards are spaced far apart, workers should position the boards perpendicularly to the conveyor’s rollers, to enable smooth conveyance and to space the rollers further apart. Steel racks are also less uniform than wood pallets in design, typically available with either two steel runners or “picture frame” bottoms. Users may require roller chains or multiple lanes of narrow rollers for added support and stability, depending on the construction of the racks. Steel racks can cause more damage to conveyors, so if they are the only option, a more intensive maintenance and inspection routine should be adopted.
