What makes this device unique is the way it combines the powers of two older, popular Hosokawa Micron products – the standard air-classifying mills, and the jet mills.
Product with a finer D50
The SFW uses the same size of footprint and the same energy input as a standardHosokawa Micronair-classifying mill does, as well as the same-sized motor. But it yields a product with a finer D50 than that of the standard mill. And compared to the manufacturer’s standard jet mill, the SFW provides a mechanical impact side reduction with no air compressor required. It uses a lower energy input to achieve this, while it still creates the same type of ultra-fine end particles that customers expect from a Hosokawa Micron jet mill.
While its standard offerings are economical and adequate for most milling applications, Hosokawa Micron has the flexibility to design and supply a complete system for very specific processing tasks. In addition to air-classifying equipment such as the SFW, the team also produces systems for explosion containment, wear resistance, noise abatement, easy cleaning (for fast product changeover), extreme heat, and cryogenic applications. Hosokawa Micron’s skilled powder-processing department encourages customers to work directly with it, so they can determine what technologies are most suitable for their unique needs.
Although it employs the same energy input as a standard air-classifying mill, the SFM provides better capacity to yield an ultra-fine end product. Hosokawa Micron welcomes clients to conduct trial SFW tests.
