Material handling systems integrator focuses on performance, reliability and price

It’s shaping up to be a busy year for Wecon Systems, a Mississauga, Ont.-based provider ofconveyor equipment and system solutionsfor a variety of material handling applications. The company’s mission is to develop and implement the best-suited conveyance technologies to meet the customer’s requirements — in terms of performance, reliability and price.

“To meet this challenge, we are vertically integrated with advanced design tools and application experience, project management, in-house fabrication, assembly, system controls, electrical design and programming,” the company says.

Here’s a rundown of some of Wecon’s ongoing and completed projects:

• 该公司最近完成了安装a mini load automated storage and retrieval system supplied by TGW-Systems at a hardware distributor’s new distribution facility in Kitchener, Ont. Wecon provided the implementation and installation services for five 40-foot-high vertical storage and retrieval machines.
• Wecon technicians have completed the installation of Phase 1, including the relocating of a sorter, at a major supplier of print and promotional products in Windsor, Ont. The company was contacted by a major material handling player to provide the “local” installation services for the equipment it supplied. Phase 2 is scheduled to commence early this year.
• The balance of decommissioning, reconfiguring, installation and commissioning of the new transportation and sortation system at an e-commerce distribution centre in Scarborough, Ont., has been deferred until the New Year due to e-commerce commitments during the holiday season.
• Wecon continues to add additional avenues to its installation activities. The company has been contracted to provide the installation services for a car turntable system in Toronto. The system provides 360-degree rotation for narrow and limited access facilities. In restricted garage layouts where turning maneuvers are difficult or limited, the vehicle can be turned to the desired position, enabling the driver to easily vacate the space. Installation is scheduled to commence early this year.
