Titan Frozen Fruit is a premium frozen fruit company that is able to cost-effectively produce the highest quality and safest frozen strawberry productsavailable. And it’s able to do this with the help ofMiura boilers.

The challenge

Titan Frozen Fruit began it’s mission to create a state-of-the-art facility in SantaMaria, Calif. — with the most innovative and efficient fruit processing technology— in October 2013. The goal was to take fruit processing to the next level, exceeding industry standards and the requirements of its global customers.

Building a new construction, non-residential facility in California also comes withstrict energy and water regulations. With California facing its driest year onrecord, and state legislation demanding severe conservation measures, TitanFrozen Fruit needed a partner to provide the technically advanced equipment tokeep production levels above par with the competition and to cut energy andutility costs, while simultaneously adhering to legislative and natural resourcelimitations.

The solution

A primary focus for Titan was to move away from the traditional 800Hp boilers在行业中使用,从小型ler, more efficient units, yet still produce higherquantities of its superior products. In order to maximize ROI, Titan Frozen Fruitchose to partner with Miura North America, who was able to offer the mostcomprehensive energy conservation approach with a full package of energy-saving products, including threeLX-100 on-demand steam boilers, whichproduce steam in just five minutes and maintain an 85 per cent fuel-to-steamefficiency. In addition to the on-demand steam and energy-efficient boilers, Miuraprovided a complete water treatment and remote monitoring system tosignificantly increase the company’s conservation efforts.

The results

The complete system from Miura as a part of the new construction helped TitanFrozen Fruit receive its Permit to Construct in less than two months, compared tothe typical 180 days in Santa Barbara County.

“The county has very strict emissions controls for new construction, yet withMiura’s systems, we were able to construct, and begin production in less thaneight months,” said Al Souza, director of operations for Titan Frozen Fruit.

“I came from the same type of facility — processing strawberries — where weused 800Hp boilers, and our energy bills were about $42,000 a month. With theMiura boilers, our monthly costs have been decreased by more than half,” saidSouza.

Added Eric Duyck, vice-president of operations: “We predict to have ourequipment paid off in five years, and the money we save on energy and utilitycosts will help us reach this goal sooner.”
