Robust performance with high accuracy
This miniature kit encoder builds on the success of the modular encoders thatPOSITALlaunched in 2016. Careful redesign with smaller electronic components has enabled reduction of the diameter from 36 to 22 millimetres. The team has also miniaturized the Wiegand energy-harvesting system that powers the rotation counter, eliminating the need for backup batteries or complex gear systems. The device ensures reliable absolute multi-turn position measurement on its own power.
Other benefits of this miniature kit encoder: electrical resolution of up to 17 bits; a multi-turn range of up to 32 bits; easy installation with optional self-calibration; an integrated temperature sensor for diagnostics; and availability in BiSS C and SSI interfaces with a preset function.
Unlike a resolver, this encoder offers digital output while covering a multi-turn measurement range; it is also more rugged than an optical kit and more resistant to contamination by oil, dust, or moisture. The user can install it under normal factory conditions in a very straightforward way, and the integrated self-calibration makes commissioning simpler. By blending robust magnetism and high operational reliability with an integrated temperature sensor for diagnostics, multi-turn functionality, and maintenance-free operation, companies wind up with lower cost of ownership.
