Quality is key when it comes to custom heat exchangers

Its 55,000-square-foot fabrication facility offersthe capabilities to build other large equipment in addition to heat exchangers.The company works with a variety of materials, including stainless steel, exoticalloys and titanium, to produce equipment suitable for the most demandingindustrial applications.

Here’s one application example: A multinational chemical company required twocondenser units, which were more than 40-feet long and over 125,000 poundseach. Alps Welding fabricated the shells, assembled the internal components(including all the baffle plates and stiffener rods), then installed and expanded the4,000 brass tubes required in each unit. Before shipping them out on specializedtrailers, the company hydro-tested them in its building.

“We have built thousands of vessels in wide varieties in the over 40 years wehave been in business,” the company says. “We are used to a high level ofinspection and we have a thorough QA program.
