Thermo-Kinetics named first-ever authorized service centre for LumaSense Technologies
LumaSense Technologies, a provider of innovative temperature and gas sensingdevices, has recognized Thermo-Kinetics as theonlyauthorized repair andcalibration centrein Canada for its temperature products.
“We are a global company continually striving to improve customer service,” saysLumaSense vice-president of global operations, Diane Wotus. “Increasinglycomplex import/export laws and custom delays adversely affect our customers.By adding authorized service centres, we can provide our customers the supportthey require.”
In response to the border challenges, LumaSense developed and piloted anauthorized service centre concept that started in 2014 withMississauga, Ont.-based Thermo-Kinetics, a leading manufacturer and distributor of thermalsensing products, and the exclusive distributor of LumaSense products in加拿大。
Through the pilot, Thermo-Kinetics technicians apprenticed underveteran service engineers at LumaSense’s U.S. and German-based factories. Atthe same time, management from both sides developed the supporting businessprocess to enable a variety of factory- and warranty-based calibration and repairservices. As a result of the extensive training, LumaSense has now certifiedThermo-Kinetics来检修e all of its E2T and Impac lines of infraredthermometers.
Thermo-Kinetics also made a large investment in a high-temperature calibrationfurnace to allow for in-house calibrations of E2T infrared thermometers. Thecompany’s previous maximum temperature limit of 1,500 degrees C for infraredcalibrations has increased to 2,500 degrees C with the acquisition of the newfurnace.
“As an authorized service centre, we have significantly reduced the time andexpense involved for customers to receive calibration and repair service onLumaSense products,” says Thermo-Kinetics vice-president, Jeff Dello. “This istruly a win-win-win for our customers, us and LumaSense.”
Thermo-Kinetics also recently successfully completed the renewal assessment ofits ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation, which specifies the general requirements for thecompetence to carry out tests and calibrations. The renewed accreditation will bein effect until February 2017.
